Leadership: The ABC’s of Supervising Others
In today’s changing workplace, many new supervisors and managers are unsure of their roles and responsibilities. They have little experience dealing with the challenges of managing work through others. They haven’t had the opportunity to develop the critical skills of planning work, leading teams, and communicating with employees, colleagues, and managers. This two-day course is for supervisors and managers who have recently been promoted or have been in their position and want to improve their overall supervisory skills.
How You Will Benefit:
- Clarify roles and responsibilities of a supervisor position
- Develop your skills in listening, asking questions, resolving conflict, and giving feedback to employees
- Develop a technique for making sure you give employees instructions that are clear and understood
- Identify techniques to deal with employee challenges, such as hostility, complaints, and poor performance
- Develop ways of developing good relationships with employees and peers, so that you are seen as fair and consistent
- Adjust to the supervisor role with confidence and assurance that you can handle the position
Class Length: 2 days (approx. 8 hours each day)
