Course Overview

Illustrator can be used to accomplish many different design tasks. For this reason, this course teaches core concepts and techniques that can be applied to any workflow for print, the web, or assets that will find their way into other applications. Our Adobe Certified Instructor will explain the elements that make up vector graphics—paths, strokes, and fills—and show how to use each of Illustrator's drawing tools. You'll also learn:

  • How to combine and clean up paths
  • How to organize paths into groups and layers
  • Text editing
  • Working with color
  • Expressive brush drawing
  • Effects
  • ...and much more.

Class Length: 2 day (approx. 8 hours each)

Prerequisites:

  • Knowledge of previous versions of Illustrator is helpful, but not required
  • General computer knowledge (Mac or PC) such as:
    • Opening and closing programs
    • Opening and closing documents
    • Saving files
  • Basic knowledge of file types (i.e. .mp3, .jpg, .wmv, .mov)
  • Basic knowledge of internet usage
  • Willingness to learn
  • Note taking materials, if desired

Beverages and munchies provided; one hour mid-day lunch break.
