Course Overview

Switching over can initially be a scary process but we can help make it painless. If you have made the change from Windows to the Mac, you may have a number of questions. We are Where's the On button? Where's the start menu? How do I install my software? How do I get work done on a Mac? We are here to answer them and more. We can even show you how to use Windows on your Mac to make the transition easier.

This course focuses on the similarities and differences between the two operating systems and aims to familiarize students with the terminology and interface that can initially be mystifying for Windows users. We will learn:

  • Similarities and differences between Windows and Mac OS X
  • Shortcuts, tips and tricks to your new operating system
  • How to perform basic tasks and maintenance
  • Navigating your new machine
  • How Finder and Spotlight make searching for items a snap
  • Customizing your computer
  • ...and much more.

Class Length: 1 day (approx. 8 hours)

Beverages and munchies provided; one hour mid-day lunch break.
